MS. WORLD LEATHER 2005 MICHELLE JACKSON
August 28, 2005 started a new part of Michelle Jackson's life. She was awarded the title of Ms World Leather 2005 in Las Vegas NV. Michelle Jackson is a native San Diegan with roots in the Ozark Mountains. She is a mother of two and a grandmother of three beautiful , intelligent and creative grandchildren. Michelle chose ASL Communication and Inclusion as her platform.. Being a certified ASL Interpreter (RID certified, level IV) she travels the country interpreting for the deaf not only at many leather events but in the general public also. She has worked for many colleges and universities interpreting many different kinds of classes. She also is teaching very basic sign language at many of the events that she attends around the country. Michelle's fist exposure to the leather/kink/fetish/BDSM was when she was hired to interpret during Leatherfest 1996. After that she feel in love with the people, the pleasure and the pain along with many other feelings she has encountered along her amazing journey. Michelle is involved with the San Diego boys of Leather where she is the Secretary and also with Club X in the San Diego area. She studies Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese and Russian along with writing poetry and short stories. Michelle enjoys music, art, theater and foreign films and is known to play chess, backgammon and spades, and has been seen shooting a good game of pool. When asking Michelle about her personal beliefs she stated "I believe in a higher power. I believe in Karma and her big brother Jesse, too. I believe in Love. I believe that everything is going to be alright. I believe in Rock and Roll. I believe in us." Three goals that Michelle has set for herself during her title year are to; Encourage everyone to learn and use Sign Language, at least the manual alphabet, known as finger spelling. Establish learning groups where people can learn to communicate with eyes, hands, face and body in American Sign Language. Create a list of certified ASL interpreters who are leather family or leather friendly.
