JUPITER FLORIDA MUNCH EVENT

The Jupiter Florida Munch, which meets on the third Saturday of every other month, will be holding its social munch on April 19. We have selected something different for our charity. As most organizations will be leading efforts to help the homeless and those living with HIV and AIDS, we have chosen to assist Safe Harbor Animal Rescue in Jupiter. Our reasons are as follows: Many of these beautiful creatures have to come to Safe Harbor as a result of abuse, neglect, abandonment and loss of their companions through death. The elderly as well as those who are infirmed many times do not make provisions for their pets after their deaths, leaving the pet to starve, roam and otherwise be placed with family members (if any exist), to subsequent abandonment.

With this in mind, we have asked all of our members to bring donations of pet food, blankets, towels, treats and cash to the assist Safe harbor. They have had drastic cut backs and are one of the few animal rescue facilities that provides excellent health care, warmth, love and a no kill policy. The Town of Jupiter has forced them to close their out of doors, after hours drop off facility due to zoning and un-caring proximal merchants. With our help, maybe they again can find an after hours facility so those precious animals have a safe place to rest and be cared for. Their indoor facility is always at maximum capacity.
